YMCA Afterschool Antics Program

Afterschool Antics is a recreational program that promotes personal development, team building, leadership skills, strong values, and independence. Children attending Afterschool Antics have an opportunity to participate in program focusing on social and emotional growth in an atmosphere that is FUN and FRIENDLY.

Afterschool Antics programs are not designed to be child care rather they are recreational programs that use the children's interests, encompassing activities such as sports, cooperative games, crafts, special events, music and outdoor activities. Children are encouraged to share their interests and program ideas.

Program Goals:
* Provide 30 to 40 minutes of structured group physical activity that promotes team work, is inclusive and non-elimination
* Provide 45 to 60 minutes of choice based activities including active (team games, sports) and non-   
   active (board games, art projects) recreation
* Promote Personal Development through self discovery, independence, responsibility and leadership
